There are 2 rules for using adjectives in Spanish…
1. The adjective comes AFTER the thing it describes
The black dog
El perro negro
2. The adjective must agree with the thing in gender & number
Gender
El perrO negrO
La faldA negrA
Number
Los perrOS negrOS
Las fladAS negrAS
But what about adjectives that don´t end in O or A????
They only have to be changed for number
El perro marrón
La falda marrón
Los perrOS marronES
Las faldAS marronES

Some verbs just don’t sound right in the past tense. When we add the é to the end of them to indicate the yo form, it changes the sound. So we have to change the spelling to keep the sound. The change only happens in the YO form. All other forms are normal. These verbs end with -GAR, -CAR, & -ZAR and they look like this…
JUGAR- to play
Yo jugUÉ
Tú jugASTE
SACAR- to take
Yo SaQUÉ
Tú sacASTE
EMPEZAR
Yo empeCÉ
Tú empezASTE

Here is the past tense of the verb IR
Yo Fui- I went
Tú Fuiste- you (younger) went
Él-ella Fue- he-she went
Usted Fue- You (older) went
Nosotros Fuimos- we went
Ellos (as) Fueron- they went
Ustedes Fueron- y’all went
Notice that this is the exact same conjugation as the verb SER in the past tense so Fui could mean I went or I was depending on the context.
